Leadership + Community Involvement

Through leadership and community involvement, I strive to create meaningful impact and bring people together to drive positive change.

Initiatives:

Ran a Shoe Drive
July - December 2025

From July to December 2025, I led a community-wide shoe drive in Cold Lake through Soles4Souls. Soles4Souls is an international organization that collects gently used shoes and sends them to people in developing countries, where they are resold to help individuals earn a steady income. I planned and ran the drive from start to finish by creating posters, spreading awareness in my community, and communicating with both the organization and local partners. I also set up donation boxes at accessible locations in Cold Lake, including the recreation centre and a community church. Through consistent outreach and community involvement, I collected over 200 pairs of shoes. The initiative was even recognized on the official Soles4Souls Canada Instagram page! This experience showed me how a simple idea, when organized well, can create real impact beyond my own community.

Led Food Bank Fundraiser
September 2025

In September 2025, I led my school’s leadership team in organizing a fundraiser for the Cold Lake Food Bank. At a local grocery store, we collected cash and non-perishable donations from shoppers. I took initiative in motivating my team, creating an energetic and welcoming environment that encouraged both volunteers and community members to get involved. By engaging directly with shoppers and guiding my peers, I helped drive participation and make the experience impactful. Through these efforts, we raised over $600 along with a significant amount of food donations. This experience strengthened my leadership, communication, and ability to bring people together for a meaningful cause.

Selected for Leadership Retreats
September 2025

I was selected as one of the top students in my school to attend leadership retreats that brought together students from across our Catholic school division based on leadership and academic strengths. At one retreat, I collaborated with students from different schools to discuss ways to strengthen school communities through positivity, faith-based values, and student engagement. At another, I represented my school in discussions focused on improving school spirit and planning meaningful events. These experiences strengthened my ability to collaborate, share ideas, and contribute to initiatives that enhance school culture.
